【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoverstheoperationalproceduresforusingavariableincidencetribometer(VIT)fordeterminingtheslipresistanceofplanarwalkwaysurfacesorwalkwaysurrogates(testsurfaces)andcanbeusedforfootwearbottommaterialsandsurrogates(testfeet)ineitherthelaboratoryorfieldunderdry,wet,orcontaminatedconditions.Thistestmethoddoesnotaddressallmethodologicalissues(forexample,testsurfaceandtestfootmaterialselectionandpreparation,experimentaldesign,orreportpreparation).Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
